The epitome of the African Flame lifestyle is reflected through majestic views over the Indian Ocean, a private nature reserve indispersed with critically endangered coastal forest silhouetted against the backdrop of the largest fresh water lake in Port Elizabeth and the abode of an abundance of fauna.

The Flame of Africa is encapsulated when animals have the right of way and where environmental considerations take precedence over development constraints. When security concerns are restricted to over-zealous monkeys and mammals protecting their youth; where the smell in the air are those of the veld and its flowers and where the sound of music is jealously guarded by the birds; where the ocean constantly toys with its emotions and where game no longer regards mankind as its enemy.

Situated in a private nature reserve in close proximity to unspoilt beaches, African Flame offers a lifestyle for those who yearn to be re-united with nature.

DEVELOPMENT

The reserve is located about 3 km east of Seaview and approximately 15 km west of the Port Elizabeth airport. The development area is 100 hectares in size and forms part of a larger surrounding conservancy initiative.

To maximise privacy and to sustain exclusivity, only 73 residential sites are being established, varying in size between 3150m2 and 5450m2. The remainder of the land is to be utilised as private open space. Two large floodplains linked to a wetland network will bisect the reserve. To the east, the property extends into the largest fresh water lake in Port Elizabeth.

Jointly the aquatic sections are destined to be a haven for bird and animal life. The southern section of the property consists entirely of the critically endangered Indian Ocean coastal thicket, such forest which will be extended across the reserve through an intensive rehabilitation programme.

LIFESTYLE

The African Flame lifestyle is characterised by a naturally secure environment with game roaming freely in their natural habitat, surrounded by inpenetrable forest.

This lifestyle fosters an environment that restores the tenuous links within divergent ecosystems, and creates enviromental capital; the exubrance of the birds which is a sound reminder thereof.

Management of the reserve will fall under the auspices of the Home Owners Association and their designated Trustees, assisted by a full time estate manager and auxilary staff.

The unique location of the reserve renders access impossible other than through the entrance gate. Security is an overriding concern within the South African context and all available measures such as access control and CCTV cameras have been incorporated into the planning to create the necessary peace of mind.
