Mjejane Game Reserve is a breathtaking 4000 hectare reserve within, and with direct access via a low-water bridge for safari vehicles, to the road network of the Kruger National Park, one of the largest natural biospheres in the world. This bridge, affording the privilege of access to areas not traversed by the public in the Park, is to be situated in the area of the original ‘Nellmapius Drift’ where the old transport road between Delagoa Bay and Lydenburg crossed over the Crocodile River. The first goods transported along the Nellmapius road reached the gold fields on 12 February 1876 and a rest station was later established on the farm Lodwicks Lust, now known as Mjejane Game Reserve.
Mjejane comprises pristine indigenous bush with 10 km of river frontage bordering onto the Crocodile River, the southern boundary of The Kruger National Park which is renowned for its superb game viewing. Currently, the property is being fenced and it is anticipated that early in the new year, the Kruger Park fence will be dropped, effectively incorporating Mjejane into The Kruger National Park.
